My main computer crashed yesterday, and is fairly well hopeless. The saddest part is that it happened while I was backing things up. I've got the essentials (minus some ConScrew book stuff, which is either in Vol. 2 and ready to go, or is for future volumes and needs to be redone anyway) ... lost quite a bit of fansubbage I hadn't managed to burn to CD before the fact ... but the main thing is that I don't have my desktop computer.

Now I do have access to three others: my laptop, my work computer, and my grandparents' computer. This comic, I did entirely at my grandparents' house -- because it's nearly impossible to put together a comic well on my laptop's dim screen, and also because the script for this and the next three pages were some of the other things I lost. Fortunately, we know how to react in an emergency, and our vigilant Co-Writer forwarded the scripts to both my e-mail account and my grandfather's. He also suggested I put up one of the fillers I've got lying around. But I'm stubborn. Now, if it came time to go home and go to bed and I'd been beaten, then yeah, but I'd have gone down fighting. However, I was not beaten. Check that out.

Now it's just a matter of staying in this groove overall while I wait for the new computer to arrive, and then set it up. I've got a plan of action worked out ... and I do have the filler lying around in case of an emergency.

Another thing I've still got? Another Dysfunctional Toy Theatre! I mean, seriously, guys. How much do we love you? (Also, yeah, I know the first voting link isn't working. No idea what's going on with their site.)

Him that is/will be upstairs is going to a Rob Zombie concert this weekend, but I'm going to a different show tonight. Michael Feinstein. But you know what? I dun care if you laugh. I grew up with my grandparents, I was raised on MGM musicals and the old standards, and I'm really lookin' forward to this. Also because it's at the new Ferguson Arts Centre, which I'm hoping actually gets enough notoriety to get touring shows and other concerts to come down regularly.

Besides which? I like the fact that I can go see Michael Feinstein in concert and enjoy it, and still be jealous of Rob for getting to go to that other concert this weekend. And then turn around and try to steal Jon's Pink Floyd albums the week before I perform a Handel recital. It's nice to have diverse tastes like that. Means it's a lot easier to find radio stations I like. Also means I'm more cultured than half the people I know -- and possibly you. So there.
