'What? But Kara, don't you love going out for drinks, queso dip, and Shanghai wings on occasional weekends?' Yes, indeed. Especially to Chili's, which has a Chambord margarita (and we all know from Thursday how much I love Chambord). However, I also love being alive, and that will not happen if I go out tonight.
This is not a holiday I feel pressed to celebrate. I have a bar in my flat. I'm friends with someone who works at an Anheuser-Busch-owned theme park. I'm not fascinated by the idea of binge-drinking (since there's no actual fun in it), nor am I allowed to. So I feel no need to find a certain day out of the year, pretend (badly) to be Irish, and use it as an excuse to booze.
Oh, incidentally ... seeing as how St. Patrick's Day is a religious observance in Ireland, all the pubs there are closed.
Poseurs.
So do yourself a favour and stay in tonight, everyone. Hey, now's a good time to review the archives

Well, it's good ol' St. Pat's, and I'm going to make sure I have food in the flat, because at about 5 PM I'm locking myself in and not coming out 'til about noon tomorrow.
and look at how much my art sucked a year ago! If you have been, don't look.
