'Do the impossible, see the invisible, row row row your boat.' by Kara
So several months ago, my friends Oni and James took me to dinner at a Mexican restaurant and ran the idea of a mid-Atlantic Doctor Who convention by me. I said it sounded fun and also a bit essential. As time went on, they began asking me for help naming it, picking guests, and more to the point that I realised that ... hey, this was happening.
At the end of June, I was informed that we were ready to go because we had Colin Baker booked as a guest. I was brought on officially as Community Manager (currently a sort of multifaceted job that would take a while to describe), though in the end I'm also sort of a consultant or something and ended up on the inside of a lot of big stuff. And it's happening. It's fricking happening.
We've also signed on Sylvester McCoy and Deborah Watling, and there are a couple other guest announcements still in the works that I'm sitting on. We've had people approach us, and it's just ... exciting as heck.
I'm sure I'll be blathering on more about it as time goes on, but for the time being? Block off the last weekend of March because it's gonna be a great big nerd party with awesome guests and programming. Actually, you might wanna register right now because it will probably end up being a full house.
If you have been, busy-ness.
