Book book book book.... by Shannon

And here's where I actually make a post of some substance.

If you're looking for something new to read, I've recently re-started my series of Tuesday book reviews. Essentially, I write a short review of whatever books happen to have passed through my hands lately. Granted, my tastes tend to centre on non-fiction, particularly historical non-fiction, so my book selections might not be everyone's cup of tea. But then again, you might be interested by a book you would never have thought of looking for otherwise.

Speaking of tea, my kettle's boiling. Which just goes to show you that the old saying holds true -- an unwatched kettle tends to boil right when you have your hands full with other things.

Now being in possession of the real Humphrey (yes, there will be pictures), I can tell you firsthand just how accurate this behaviour is.

Yesterday, he spent half of the three-hour Whose Line marathon napping on one of my old shirts on the couch while I drew. I decided to shift him a bit so I could have more room to stretch out, and somehow that little bit of movement made him decide that he was ready to be wide awake and get into shit.

Remember how I said awhile back that I had no idea how fast a hedgehog runs?

I do now.

Nimble little things. But the most he managed to do was roll off my lap and wedge himself between the sofa cushions for a moment or two. Generally if a pet isn't going to hurt itself at all, but the result of its actions will fall into the category of Their Own Damn Fault™, I just let it do whatever and then rescue it once it's had a moment to contemplate its most recent life choice. (He's doing fine. Geesh.)

Expect to read more from the lovely co-writer from now on. If you have been, be sure to drain the water afterwards.
